Snacks don’t have to be complicated. Even if you are out all day, there are simple and healthy ways to bring snacks along with you. Wash some celery sticks and an apple. If you can, cut them up but cutting them up is not necessary. Put some almond butter in the hollow part of the celery and put a spoonful on a plate to dip the apples in. It’s delicious! If I am not able to cut the apple before hand I will sometimes just eat the apple whole and then eat a spoonful of almond butter separately (yes, I carry a jar of almond butter with me when I go out). It does taste nice though when the apple slices can be dipped in the nut butter. This snack has a lot more fiber in it than a bag of chips and a lot less sugar than a cookie or other processed sweet snack.

Serves 1 person
1-2 celery sticks
1-2 tablespoons almond butter (you can substitute with any other nut butter if preferred)
Wash the apple and celery sticks. Cut off the ends off the celery and cut the apple into slices. Using a knife, add the almond butter into the hollow part of the celery sticks. Put a tablespoon of almond butter on a plate and dip the apple slices in it. Enjoy!
