Let’s discuss serving food. What’s the joy of grocery shopping, meal planning, and food preparation if there is no one to eat it? Whether you are just cooking for yourself, a significant other, a family, or a large group of people, serving food can also be fun process instead of a chore. Have you ever had a meal and felt no joy in eating it? Or you could tell that the person making the food wasn’t enjoying the process? The energy we put into meal preparation and serving can also affect the experience - both your own experience and everyone else who will be eating the food.
What foods should you have on hand all the time? That depends on what you like to eat, your finances, and food availability. I like to keep my kitchen stocked with the items I use on a regular basis so I can easily make a meal without having to do a lot of planning and shopping beforehand. Of course, it’s never perfect and I do end up having to make last minute runs to the store, or re-plan a recipe because I ran out of something. But having the essentials in the kitchen is very helpful and makes cooking a lot less time consuming and stressful.
I am excited to announce that I will be working on a blog about cooking and food preparation! This is meant to be a helpful resource for you and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy cooking and then writing about it. What I am hoping to include are methods to choose and store foods, helpful kitchen tools to use for meal preparation, and easy-to-use recipes that are delicious, full of flavor, and healthy!
